Dapper In Paris
Everyone has their favourite time of the year when they like to visit Paris. The romance of February, the spring blossom of April, the sizzle of August, but his was the richness of November.
With all the creative projects he was working on, it was hard to find a slot in the busy diary for him to visit the Foundation Louis Vuitton, where Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection was being exhibited.
Sergei Shchukin was a Russian collector in the early 20th century and amassed an impressive collection of French modern art. Works painted by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec peppered the walls of his home and were now on display for the first time.
The excitment built up over the months leading to this short trip. He only saw the paintings in books whilst studying many moons ago and now, he would be able to marvel at the masterpieces up close. After hours of moving from room to room, absorbing the colours dancing across various canvases, his soul was satisfied.
He promised no to leave it too long to visit Paris again, for it has always been generous to him.
