Dapper & The Garden

DUCITE SOLICITAE QUAM IUCUNDA OBLIVIA VITAE” the sign read.
Although it cannot be literally translated, it essentially encourages one to “forget about everyday worries and enjoy the pleasure of having rest in the garden.”

Dapper had no worries. The day was glorious on this particular Friday. It was a couple weeks ago and he’d been talking the whole summer about wanting to enjoy the gardens and then rowing the boat for an hour.

The idea came about after he had listened to an audio story of one of his childhood favourites, The Wind In The Willows. But the weekends seemed to disappear far too quickly.

“Why leave it until the weekends?” he asked himself one day. Like Toad of Toad Hall, he felt he was the master of his own destiny. He could either spend the last days of the summer working solely from the studio, or he could enjoy the last days of summer in style. And in style he did spend them.
