Dapper & The Little Dutch Prince
He recently travelled to Amsterdam to visit his close friend and watch the World Cup semi final. Even though the Dutch lost, the atmosphere in the city was quite pleasant. The amazing weather did have something to do with it.
He decided to take the time in the city to browse the very large and sometimes overbearing, Waterlooplein flea market. He was hoping to find some clothing gems to add to his wardrobe, but alas there was nothing to make him dip into his wallet.
Onto the next and main task: find The Little Prince in Dutch.
You see, his wife, (yes he is married), loves the story of The Little Prince, written by Antoine De Saint-Exupéry. First published in 1943, it is a classic tale of equal appeal to children and adults. He recalled a conversation they once had where she revealed her desire to collect the book in different languages.
He felt it would be criminal not to even try to find the book in the Dutch language.
After many hours of exploring, he finally found a small, quaint book shop, where – as if the universe had heard his calling – the book was in the main display and… as a special pop-up edition.
He found The Little Dutch Prince.
